Projects International
TEACHER TRAINING WORKSHOP
sponsored by: Mukdaharn ERIC & English-To-Go
Ploy Palace Hotel, Mukdaharn Thailand
From October 22nd to 26th 2001, Projects International worked in association with English-To-Go and the Thai Education Ministry ERIC to provide a teacher training workshop for high school English teachers from the provinces of the north east of Thailand. Dr. Athipat Cleesuntorn, Deputy Minister for Education joined the start of this teacher training initiative in Mukdaharn province.
Goal - To encourage teachers to design and organize community-based, sustainable business projects in English to develop students' critical thinking skills for life-long learning.
The National Education Act of B.E. 2542 is changing Thai education. Now, high school English teachers are challenged to do more than just teach English. But, what do we teach and how ?
This workshop meets the new educational changes and challenges by encouraging English teachers to design and organize community-based, sustainable business projects at their school. Tips and techniques will be demonstrated for teaching critical thinking skills through reading, writing and presentations in projects. Throughout the workshop, fun English games and activities will take place to prove that life-long learning can be enjoyed through project work.
Many thanks to the facilitators who volunteered their time and airfare:
